Supporting Two Concurrent South Florida Vendor Shows With 200+ Connected Devices

When two South Florida vendor shows needed managed internet service during the same operating period, ClearPath Connect deployed two independent temporary networks. Together, the events supported more than 200 connected devices while vendors relied on internet access for point-of-sale activity, business applications, messaging and general browsing.

The Challenge
Each venue had a dense concentration of vendors and mobile devices. The networks needed enough address capacity for changing device counts while preventing individual users from consuming a disproportionate share of the available bandwidth.
Because both shows operated concurrently, ClearPath also needed two completely independent and repeatable deployment kits. A problem at one location could not be allowed to affect the other event.
The ClearPath Network Design
ClearPath prepared a separate managed network for each venue. Each deployment included primary internet service, backup connectivity, a managed router, wired wireless access points and a dedicated network configuration built for a dense event environment.
The address pools were sized with additional capacity so newly arriving devices could connect without exhausting available IP addresses. Client-level traffic controls helped distribute bandwidth fairly, while operational traffic such as vendor payment activity received priority over nonessential usage.
Wired access points were positioned around the event spaces to improve coverage and distribute client load. Mesh operation was avoided where wired connections were available, reducing unnecessary wireless overhead.
Deployment and Testing
Equipment was configured before arrival to reduce setup time. At each location, ClearPath installed the network, verified access-point connectivity, tested internet access and checked coverage before normal event operations.
The network was monitored during service, and bandwidth policies could be adjusted based on actual device activity. Increasing available upload allocation during operation improved responsiveness as demand increased.
The Results
Across the two events, more than 200 devices connected to the ClearPath networks combined. Vendors were able to use web-based business tools, messaging and general internet services through managed event networks designed specifically for the temporary environment.
The deployment also demonstrated that ClearPath could operate more than one event simultaneously using independent equipment, configurations and connectivity resources.
